Activities in Bagneres de Bigorre
Bagneres de Bigorre is set on the river Adour in the foothills of the Pyrenees. At an altitude of 500 metres it enjoys mild winters despite the close proximity to the mountains. Boasting 300 days of sunshine a year you would be unlucky to come here and not experience some good weather. It can get pretty hot in July and August, however, a short trip to the south and you are soon in the cooler mountain air.
The ski resort of La Mongie is just 25 minutes away and the pretty mountain resort of Bareges a few kilometres further on.
EATING OUT
There are many bars and cafes in Bagneres and in excess of twenty restaurants within a short walk. You can eat out for as little as 12 Euros for a three course meal. There is plenty of choice for eating out including Chinese, Italian, Thai, Spanish and of course French cuisine. The Casino also has a reasonably priced restaurant alongside the gaming rooms and nightclub.

The main attractions of Bagneres other than the superb trails (and roads for the skinny wheel brigade) are the thermal spas.
